Rakushechnoye

Rakushechnoye field information

Oilfield Rakushechnoye is located in the Southwestern Part of Mangistau region of Kazakhstan.
110 km South from Aktau city and port, 60 km from the railway station Eraliyevo, 25 km from Kuryk – a perspective sea port on one of the main oil transport routs.

Exploration started in 1972 and in 1973 1st well was drilled, which gave a fountain outflow.
Depths:
– Jurassic 2700m (oil and gas accumulation)
– Triassic 4000m (gas condensate)
The Rakushechnoye oilfield is a part of the Caspian Basin of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which contains supra-salt oil.
During 1973-1987 years the whole area was explored with seismic survey and in the period of 1973-1987 46 exploration and production wells were drilled out. From the year 2004 recommencement of works, well re-entry, and a complex of research works were started. One new well has been already drilled.

Contracts and Licenses

CaspiOilGas holds an exclusive license and a contract with government of Kazakhstan on exploration, development and production of oil and gas in the field known as Rakushechnoye, an area of 287 sq.km. The contract is valid for 25 years

Projects

In 2004 works on Rakushechnoye oilfield recommenced, including constructions of field facilities and completing the constructions of personnel camp and service facilities. Years of works, carried out at the oilfield provide the company with excellent detailed exploration and development information.

In 2006 in the context of field development, the following arrangements have been carried out: exploration, engineering works, drilling and well re-entering, construction of infrastructure projects, and oil recovery which is planned to begin at the end of the current year.
Data processing of logging jobs lets the firm radically change our views on geological structure of the field as a whole and extend the stratigraphic range of oil and gas accumulations, especially in Jurassic lithgology.
Two dimensional (2D) seismic data interpretation and reprocessing were carried out.

Activities planned for 2007-2009
  • Specification of the deposit model
  • 2D Seismic survey
  • Oil reserves estimation and approval
  • Audit by international IPO agency
  • Refurbishment of 14 wells
  • Drilling of a new well
  • Utilization program implementation
  • Piping and arrangement of the field
  • Accomplishing of metering unit and installation of the Point of preliminary oil preparation
  • Building infrastructure for transporting hydrocarbons to delivery point
