Sarsenbay deposit information

Gas deposit Sarsenbay is located in the Southwest Part of Mangistau region of Kazakhstan. 110 km to the South from Aktau city, 60 km from the railway station Eraliyevo, 27 km from Kuryk
Depths – Triassic 3728 m
Exploration of the area started in 1980. Sarsenbay deposit was opened in 1985 by the exploration well #2.
Five exploration wells have been drilled.

Contracts and Licenses

CaspiOilGas holds an exclusive license and contract with the government of Kazakhstan on exploration and production of gas in the Sarsenbay gas deposit, located in Mangistau region. Duration of the contract is 25 years.

Projects

It is planned to make depreservation and re-test of the existing wells. In august 2006 LLP “ConsultingOilGeo” carried out a comprehensive interpretation of wells’ geological and geophysical data.
